Happy Tuesday! Do I seriously have a treat for you guys!
This past weekend was the kickoff to my wedding season and I think my heart skipped a beat! It was SO great being back behind the lens capturing a couple’s special day, and what better couple for it to be than Keri and David.
Keri was one of my VERY first friends in college at LU. During my freshman year, we were both in anatomy class together (yikes – totally understandable why we’d be searching for friendship LOL) and became instant friends. We studied for hours together into the early morning with large Dunkin Donuts iced coffees in one hand and our homemade study guides in the other. We both love to laugh and could talk for hours, so it’s seriously shocking that we even got ANYTHING done! Either way, this girl went down in my heart as one of the most genuine and authentic friends I could ever ask for.
Fast forward 3 years and enter David 🙂 Keri and David met their senior year during college. They both worked for intramural sports at Liberty as their part-time job. (It’s so crazy looking back now and remembering when Keri was pondering whether or not to even take the job… obviously so glad that she did). They both LOVE sports – and are very competitive – and they would get together to play volleyball or basketball with their friends. After being in the same circles, they began to get to know each other. Their conversations were always easy and he ALWAYS made Keri laugh. They began dating, both unsure where this was headed since graduation was soon approaching. After dating for 6 months, they BOTH ended up moving from Lynchburg, Virginia to Houston, Texas to begin working at Second Baptist Church. They began doing ministry together and that’s where Keri swears she fell the deepest in love with David.
As they were in Houston, one of Keri’s favorite things to do was look up date ideas. One night, she took him as a surprise to a pier she found to watch the sunset. The following January, David’s parents came to visit him in Houston. He said one of the things he wanted to do was show them the pier before they went to dinner that night! As they were out on the pier, David told Keri to close her eyes, and when she opened them, David was down on one knee, explaining how much he loved her and how she was the girl he’d been hoping his whole life to find (SO SWEET).
Keri and David, you two have such incredibly JOYFUL hearts and spirits and are two of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. Chance and I are so grateful to have been able to share the joy of your wedding day with you! I wish you two both a lifetime of happiness!
