Aw, guys!! This is such a fun blog post to write!!
I met Olivia about a year and a half ago through my Arbonne business! She just has this contagious energy about her so I totally wanted to be friends with her as soon as I met her! A little while later, I was creating my Engagement Session Styling Guide for my brides and I needed to fill in a few pages. I asked Olivia and her boyfriend, Carter, to model for me so I could complete my style guide! We all had SUCH a great time together and it really felt like just spending an evening with great friends. Even then I could tell how much these two loved each other!
Fast forward to about two weeks ago, I get an Instagram message from Carter telling me that he’s PROPOSING to Olivia!! AHHH!! I was out of this world excited for them! We exchanged numbers and secretly conjured up a plan for me to photograph their proposal in Charlottesville at Carter Mountain Orchard. Carter and I were texting back and forth for about a week and on their drive up there and Olivia kept asking him who he was texting. She told me later that Carter even snatched the phone out of her hand haha! (It’s hard work keeping big secrets, y’all).
I got to Carter Mountain a little before them, scoped out a place for him to propose, and took my position in the orchard (only after falling flat on my face after tripping on a giant rock while texting Carter… no bigs). He was going to propose in a huge clearing I’d scoped out that was empty before, but of course when they got there, was full of people. Carter decided to wing it and kept walking, crossing his fingers I’d follow. I did! I ran, bobbed, and weaved as Olivia kept looking around the orchard (I mean serious American Ninja Warrior stuff going on over here). I finally followed them through a narrow row of trees where I was basically spooning a bunch of red delicious apples.
I watched Carter anxiously grab her hands and say her name and I knew this was it!! He got down on one knee, Olivia said, “oh my gosh!!” and he asked her to marry him at the top of the orchard. It was adorable and I was even shaking with excitement!! Just wait until you see the pictures… these two are so in love!!
Congratulations, Carter and Olivia!! I am so excited for you guys and that you’re officially #initforthelongHULL 😉
