There is absolutely nothing more special than capturing portraits for my sweet friends and their families. Kathryn is one of my all-time best girl friends here in Charlotte! I met her through mutual friends and was beyond thankful when she asked me to capture Baby Stuart’s Charlotte lifestyle newborn portraits! Kathryn and her wonderful family have the most beautiful home and backyard, so their session was a dream come true!
When I arrived to their session, I found out Baby Stuart had a rough night. He was a little fussy throughout our session – but that was no big deal! It’s super common and I totally expect it with babies. We always follow baby’s cues in a lifestyle newborn session, so we took breaks and let him feed. During that time, I got a lot of focused time with Margaret, his big sister. We spent time in her room reading books and I was able to document her there, too! Lifestyle sessions are fun for big siblings because they get a chance to show off too! I know the transition to becoming a big sibling can be a tough transition, so spending time with them is always high on my list of things to do while the new babies feed and rest.
After we captured everyone inside, we headed out to their backyard. They have a beautiful space and in the morning light, it was just perfect!!! If my clients have a backyard, I always make sure we photograph them there. Nothing beats natural light! Margaret had a great time running around and hugging her parents. And Stuart, well… he loved being cuddled. Can’t beat that!!
Welcome to the world, Baby Stuart! I adored getting to meet you during your Charlotte lifestyle newborn portraits. You are SO loved!!!
