couple dances on sand during Charleston Microwedding on the beach

Charleston Microwedding || Liz + Nicole

Is there anything better than a Charleston microwedding on the beach? Liz and Nicole had the most beautiful and intimate wedding day here at Folly Beach and I literally loved every single moment of it. These two are absolutely perfect for each other. They’re new to the area from Phoenix, Arizona and was so happy when they inquired with me. Thanks to one of my other sweet couple’s blog and publication (thank you, Bethany and Mark!) they found me and it was fate! When we finally jumped on Zoom, I felt like I’d met two life long friends. On our call, Liz and Nicole told me that they’d been waiting to propose to each other and wound up with proposals planned one day a part. Ultimately, Nicole beat Liz to the punch with a flash mob proposal at a brewery in Phoenix. HOW FUN?! These are totally my people!

And their romantic wedding celebrated what makes them unique – even down to their three pups being guests! I am ALL about making your wedding day your own. Every detail and decision should reflect who you two are as a couple. Nicole and Liz really wanted a small wedding that would celebrate their new home in Charleston, and that’s truly what they got!

Charleston Microwedding on the Beach

Liz and Nicole each got ready with their family and friends before having a no peek 🙂 I love the option of a no peek around a door or wall for couples that don’t want a first look but still want to calm their nerves a bit! Liz and Nicole were able to hold hands and say hello around the balcony wall before their ceremony.  It was so sweet. Their day was just SO full of love. Afterwards, they met on the beach for their ceremony by a gorgeous natural driftwood arbor. There, with just a few guests, they exchanged their vows. It was SO romantic!!

Once their ceremony was done, Liz and Nicole had their first dance there, right on the sand. Liz was a dancer and they hired someone to choreograph a special first dance for them to “The Bones” by Maren Morris. It was so special – and I think it was such a great idea. As the sun set, we explored the beach for their portraits. And we even found a super bright and colorful mural that was so them! And can we talk about their style?! I’m still OBSESSED with their wedding outfits. After a few more portraits with their pups, we headed in for their cake cutting. They were able to spend the evening celebrating with their family with an intimate reception. Just wait until you see their tablescape – the blues and greens they used are just perfect together.

Congratulations again, Liz and Nicole! Your Charleston microwedding is what dream wedding days are made of. I’m SO excited for you two to start your next chapter, married!
