The Pascutti family is SO special to me and I just adore their Sullivans Island family session. Sarah and David are some of our closest friends. Every time we come to Charleston we stay with them (well, almost every time) and I love it so much. They now have two little girls and it’s been such an honor to be their “Aunt Demi”! This session with them is honestly one of my all time favorites from one of our trips there! Sullivans Island is also one of the best places in the world – and I believe it so strongly I have the coordinates tattooed on my arm! So seriously, to say I loved this session is truly an understatement.

Sullivans Island Family Session

First off, Sarah and David have the best beach chic style. I loved the outfits Sarah planned for everyone. They were perfect for the beach in the evening. The girls know me pretty well so they were a little less behaved than they might have been for someone else photographing them. But, that’s okay! We had so much fun. Sarah was worried we didn’t get any “good” shots of the girls because they just wanted to play and run around… but we wound up with SO many incredible moments. It was a good reminder that family sessions don’t have to be “picture perfect” to be wonderful. Capturing families as they play and are in their element is just as important and meaningful. By the end of the session, both girls were naked and running into the water but it was the perfect end to our time on the beach.

Afterwards, We spent time after at Coastal Crust, one of the spots in my Charleston Foodie guide and had pizzas while the girls played on the playground. It was truly a wonderful night out and I’ll remember it forever. I love being able to take photos of my friends during these sweet seasons of life!
