Uptown Charlotte is gorgeous in all of its glory, but let me tell you, it’s got nothing on these two.
Amelia and I met on Instagram when I was hardcore stalking the Charlotte ballet and the company when I needed a ballerina for my ballet inspired editorial shoot! After I messaged her asking if she’d be interested in being our model for the shoot, we agreed to meed for coffee so we could go over the details (and probably just to make sure I checked out and wasn’t a crazy person).
We ordered our coffees, sat outside on the patio, and talked for what felt like minutes but turned into a few hours. We reminisced about her years at Juilliard in NYC. Since I was a dancer myself, I’d always dreamed of what it would be like to attend college there. We talked about Charlotte, her job here, and her boyfriend Erik, the cute engineer she’d met among mutual friends after moving to Charlotte. After I checked out as not insane (I think), we went wedding dress shopping for our shoot and it was basically friendship at first fitting.
The day before our photoshoot, Erik asked Amelia to marry him!! She sent me photos as soon as it happened and I literally squealed for her! She showed up with a BEAUTIFUL ring on her finger, which made our editorial shoot that much more exciting! After she and Erik had picked a wedding venue and a date for their wedding in Charlotte, she asked me to photograph their wedding and I don’t know if I’ve ever said wholeheartedly yes to anything in my whole life (exceeeeept for maybe that one time when I accepted Chance’s proposal).
Their engagement session was such a perfect way to celebrate these two and the love they share. We spent the night laughing through uptown while chatting all things wedding. I genuinely ADORE these two so much and have so much fun with them! They are absolutely perfect together and complement each other so well.
