Maggie is one of my good friends here in Charlotte and it was such an honor to photograph her new baby girl, Sloan! I’m so excited for you to see their newborn session because there’s just SO much love in every single portrait. This was Maggie’s first pregnancy and their first baby, so it was extra special to watch one of my dear friends through her pregnancy. I loved being able to celebrate with her at every stage. Seriously, it really was so special to photograph these moments of her and her husband, Taylor, becoming parents! Sloan is adorable and I just think her Charlotte newborn session is so pretty!
Charlotte Newborn Session for Baby Girl
On top of having a new baby, Maggie and Taylor moved into a new home! What a way to celebrate a new home – bringing home their daughter! It was the perfect backdrop for our session. I’ve always loved Maggie’s style. She’s just got such a good eye. Because of that, Sloan’s nursery is perfect. All of the little details just came together perfectly for their baby girl. We split their newborn portraits between Sloan’s nursery and the main bedroom in the house. I’m always looking for the best light and this house was just overflowing with it! Sloan was an angel during our session. She slept quite a bit of it, but she also spent some time awake and enjoying extra snuggles with her parents. Their dogs were included in the session too, of course, and loved watching over their new little sister as she laid in her crib. It’s always fun to see what fur babies will do during a session!! But these two were just great.
There’s definitely something special about documenting a new baby coming home, but when it’s your friends’ baby, it’s even more special. I loved meeting you, sweet little Sloan, and I can’t wait to watch you grow! Congratulations again Maggie and Taylor! You two are the best parents and I’m so happy for you three!
