The true theme of this couple was family first. From the engagement session to the wedding day, Caitie and Dave emphasized how important their family was in this celebration of love.
The Greenbrier is a very special place for the bride, Caitie. She grew up visiting this gorgeous place with her family. There’s even a photo of her as a little girl in the Trellis Room where their cocktail hour was held that we recreated during their engagement session! After she and Dave were engaged, they knew The Greenbrier was the perfect wedding spot for the marriage of both families. Envisioning something centrally located, with her family based in North Carolina and his in Pittsburgh, the choice was easy!
On Thursday, they held their rehearsal dinner at Howard’s Creek Lodge. This beautiful space combines rustic charm with refined elegance, situated along Greenbrier’s historic golf course. A two man band really rounded out the mountain feel as music drifted through the evening. Although the original forecast called for heavy rain ALL weekend, we ended up with showers just on the first day. Otherwise, it was sunny every day for them, which was so lovely!
The Welcome Party was in the Colonial Lounge and the Chesapeake Terrace and featured some of my absolute FAVORITE curtains – the iconic bows! Truly, the decor in the Colonial Lounge is so sweet and happy.
Floral Infusion at The Greenbrier
Caitie and Dave dreamed of a bright, floral-filled wedding day in the mountains. They really wanted to embrace the iconic designs of the Greenbrier while infusing a fresh, modern take amidst all the tradition of the space. So Caitie said one of the most important things to her was florals, and having those be over the top throughout the design. Martha with Gillespie’s Flowers did not disappoint! Even the cake was a showstopper with floral details.
What really made this weekend such a treasure for me was the family and guests of Caitie and Dave. I felt so at home and comfortable with both sides of the family. (Like truly they adopted me for a few days!) And their friends were just as amazing throughout every event. It was a weekend so full of warmth, joy and happiness. And it’s no surprise, because Caitie and Dave are truly some of the kindest people I’ve ever met! Their love radiates throughout the room and it’s impossible to not feel joy around them.
The weekend celebrations ended with an EPIC party — seriously, all of their guests got up and joined the bride and groom on the dance floor for a wild evening at the Greenbrier. Simply put, this family and floral-filled affair is an all-time favorite!
