Caroline Smith + a branding session for Wordsmith Marketing = the MOST fun I’ve ever had. Seriously, this girl is a contemporary queen, her business is amazing, and this session was top notch.
I first met Caroline when I photographed her and her husband’s wedding at the Governor Thomas Bennett house. This was a wedding that will always hold a special place in my heart because it was one of the warmest, most heartfelt celebrations I’ve ever experienced! The two of them were so fun and sweet, (and also) gorgeous! After that beautiful day of working together, we knew we were a match made in heaven and had to keep working together in any way we could! She’s so kindly referred a few of her marketing clients to me, and I’ve even photographed her sister, Charlotte, who owns an interior design company in the area!
It really is such an honor that she trusts me with her clients and continues to share them. Recently, we decided that it was FINALLY time to do a branding session for her! Wordsmith Marketing offers curated content development, branding, and consulting with a focus on “designing your business’ best first impression.” When we met up for her pre-shoot branding brainstorm, Caroline came prepared with focus keywords for these images: effervescent, creative, contemporary, witty, and authentic. So her session was a mix of studio and in-home images.
Branding Portraits in Charlotte Studio
First, we started in the studio to get that clean look she wanted with those fun magazine pages and sequin sparkles. Seriously, that first outfit I could have spent another hour photographing. Talk about fun and powerful entrepreneur vibes!! And don’t forget to appreciate the heels. PERFECTION. Then we swapped to a few more simple, understated looks!
Playful Branding Session Inspiration
Afterwards, we traveled over to her sister’s house (always helps to have a professional interior designer on speed dial) to get a few warmer, atmospheric shots. Of course, we also had to include her precious pup, Dottie, in a few images too! I love when we can include two separate spaces for a branding session because it really adds to the variety and gives your business so many more options to use across their marketing materials!
Finally, we ended with a robe + cocktail shot, because why not?! The key to a successful branding session is to have your personality shine through, and that’s exactly what we did! Caroline is SO bubbly and creative. And while I may be a bit biased, I feel like that’s what these images convey for her stellar brand!
