Lizzie said it best: “It’s the only day I get to be a celebrity.”
And she abbbbbsolutely lived that out with a wedding that was not only breathtakingly chic, but overflowing with emotion, family, and joy! From the moment she slipped into her Danielle Frankel gown to the final sendoff in their vintage getaway car, Lizzie and Jack’s wedding at Old Town Country Club in Winston-Salem was a celebration of everything they love: dancing, laughing, and each other. Not to mention, it was an absolute dream to photograph as a North Carolina wedding photographer.
A Hometown Start with Heart
Lizzie grew up in Winston-Salem. Having her wedding in her hometown was a full-circle moment, especially as she got ready at her childhood home. The morning was filled with laughter, anticipation, and one of the most emotional moments of the day: a quiet gift exchange between Lizzie and her dad. They both teared up, and it was everything Lizzie hoped for: a moment just for the two of them before the whirlwind began.
That Dress Deserves Its Own Chapter
Let’s talk about the dress. A Danielle Frankel masterpiece with a custom overlay designed just for Lizzie, it was the perfect embodiment of her style: timeless, fashion-forward, and quietly stunning. She paired it with her mother’s veil, which has also been worn by her aunt, a subtle but powerful nod to legacy, faith, and family.
The first look with her bridesmaids was absolutely precious! (Yes, there were happy tears and gasps). Lizzie was fully glowing from that moment on.
The Ceremony: Where Style Meets Sentiment
Jack, who met Lizzie in Charleston, waited for her at the altar in a space dressed with intentional, elegant design — no surprise, considering Lizzie’s wedding industry background (hello, A Charleston Bride + BBJ La Tavola!). But what made it even more moving was the way Lizzie brought her whole heart into every moment. Jack’s niece and nephews were part of the wedding party, and Lizzie made sure they felt like stars. Their playful presence added that perfect touch of warmth and whimsy.
From a CAAMP Concert to “I Do”
Their love story started with directions at Leon’s Oyster Shed and officially kicked off with a first date at a CAAMP concert. This was followed by dinner at R Kitchen. And honestly? That’s kind of the energy of their relationship. Unexpected, fun, and effortlessly cool. Jack proposed at Reynolda during Thanksgiving surrounded by Lizzie’s family. Later, they celebrated with an engagement party at 1703 (which also hosted their rehearsal dinner).
Artful, Meaningful, and Unapologetically Fun
Lizzie is an artist in every sense of the word. She has an eye for design, but also for emotion. Lizzie brings feeling into every space she’s in, and her wedding was a reflection of that. She wanted to laugh and dance all day, and that’s exactly what happened. From the high-energy dance floor to heartfelt toasts, this was the kind of wedding where joy was contagious.
Jack, who plays tennis and loves time on the water with his boat, was all smiles all day. And their getaway in a Rolls Royce was the perfect cinematic ending to their wedding celebration at Old Town Country Club.
A Love Like the Movies
Lizzie once said she loves when love feels like it does in the movies, and this day delivered. But it wasn’t just about the beauty or the aesthetics. It was about two people who were genuinely excited to start forever together. Two people who met in Charleston, lived a love story full of music and meaningful moments, and chose to honor their families, their friends, and their roots in the most intentional way.
Lizzie and Jack, your wedding was magic. Thank you for letting me witness it!
