husband and wife hold dog up during anniversary session

McGill Rose Garden Anniversary Session || Ashley + Alex

When Ashley and Alex reached out to me about capturing their anniversary portraits, I was SO excited. They hadn’t had photos done since they got married 7 years ago and I was excited to capture such an exciting time for them!! We searched high and low for a spot that would look gorgeous for them in the middle of winter, but we finally decided on McGill Rose Garden! This is one of my favorite spots in Charlotte. And it looks beautiful, even in the dead of winter. What a great spot for their anniversary portraits!

McGill Rose Garden Anniversary Session

We met up at the opening of the gardens, where I got to meet their sweet puppy, Charlotte. She was absolutely adorable – and we definitely became fast friends! You know I love a super cute puppy!!! It turns out she’s half poodle, like my own dog – Winston! Charlotte was great for us, walking around with her parents and posing perfectly for their portraits. Ashley and Alex looked AMAZING, too. Can we talk about Ashley’s style!? I’m seriously obsessed with both of her looks. She chose the perfect colors for their McGill Rose Garden anniversary portraits.

Anniversary portraits are always special to me. Marriages should be celebrated beyond the day that you get married. There’s so much that happens every year between my couples and I think a chance to slow down and document what’s going on in your life is important. Whether it’s your first anniversary or your 7th, I hope you consider an anniversary session like Ashley and Alex! Celebrate the magic and the love in your life every year!
