I’ve said it once (probably twice or 15 times actually), and I’ll say it again: a Charlotte in-home newborn session is my favorite way to capture a new baby!! I love capturing my families in their homes when they welcome a new baby to the world!
I’ve known this precious family for a few years now. We first met when they asked me to do their firstborn’s newborn photos and then family photos in the years that followed. Now they’ve welcomed baby boy number two and invited me back into their home to document their first few weeks as a new family of 4 (well, 5 plus their sweet pup Stella).
Newborn sessions with toddlers are an incredibly different experience than a newborn session with your first. YOU are different, for one, but life looks different this time around as well. Toddlers can be wild and a bit unpredictable, forcing expectations to go out the window. This session worked so well because these two let their toddler be himself and have a good bit of fun. They didn’t force him into a box he didn’t want to be in. I directed when possible, but a lot of this was truly just letting their life as newborn parents unfold. In my opinion, that’s when the most beautiful moments happen. It’s why I love lifestyle in-home sessions.
