Spring may be springing, but before we celebrate this new season I wanted to share one of my favorite newborn sessions from last winter in Charlotte!
I met Baby Sophie about 1 month after she was born, in early December. Her sweet parents were so in love with their new bundle of joy and were excited to also be hosting Christmas at their house in just a few weeks! Lord bless them, LOL. Jaclyn and her husband were already AWESOME parents, truly such naturals!
Newborn Session In Charlotte Home Nursery
Even when Sophie was a little bit fussy during the last half of the session, they both kept their calm. As you can see in the photos, we made it fun and comfortable for everyone! A quick pro tip to any new moms about to take newborn photos – don’t worry about your baby not “cooperating” during the session. As a professional, it’s my job to always make it work no matter the circumstances and keep everyone feeling at ease. Newborns are finicky, things happen, so I always allot for extra time in these shoots. And even if they’re fussy, we still get some incredible images!
Jaclyn also made it easy with her fabulously decorated nursery in her Charlotte home! Their home also had the perfect natural light, so we got some really pretty photos indoors. I always make sure to ask my clients what time of day their baby’s room gets the most sunlight when scheduling, because it makes ALL the difference!
To top it all off, when Jaclyn received her gallery a few weeks later, she sent me the sweetest email. “I just wanted to thank you so so much for our newborn photos! They are better than I could have ever imagined, and I will forever cherish the way you captured our new family of three. I cannot stop looking at all the photos – I am obsessed! We cannot wait to work with you again!”
And THAT is why I will forever love my job! Thanks for sharing this special day with me, Baby Sophie!!
