There is something so special about photographing a family year after year. Watching little ones grow from newborn snuggles to big personality and spunky energy is truly one of my favorite parts of being a Charlotte family photographer. I have photographed Gracie since she was a newborn, and I am pretty sure we have done photos every single year since. Getting to walk alongside a family in that way is such an honor. Needless to say, when Nichole reached out wanting to commemorate a sweet mother daughter studio session, I was immediately all in.

Capturing This Season of Motherhood with a Sweet Mother Daughter Studio Session

We kept this session sweet and simple in the studio so the focus could really be on their connection. One of my favorite things when photographing younger kids is being completely silly with them! Spinning, giggling, making ridiculous noises, whatever it takes to pull out those genuine smiles.

Gracie delivered. She is such a sweet, spunky little girl with the best energy! We had so much fun twirling around, laughing, and letting her personality shine. Nichole chose the prettiest outfits to start, soft and timeless. Then they changed into the cutest coordinating looks with hot pink denim cowgirl booties that absolutely stole the show.

A Full Circle Moment

One of the sweetest parts of this session was recreating a photo we did in the same studio when Gracie was just one year old. We redid the image of her sitting on her mom’s lap in the window, but this time at her current age. Seeing them side by side later was such a reminder of how quickly these years pass.

Nichole and Gracie, it is always such a joy photographing you both!! Getting to document this season of motherhood and growth is something I never take for granted. I know these mother daughter portraits will be cherished for years to come!
