As a Charlotte newborn photographer, some of my favorite moments as a photographer happen long after the wedding day.
I’ve had the JOY of photographing Grace and Riley’s engagement session, their wedding, maternity photos, baby shower, and now welcoming sweet baby Romy into the world!!! Walking alongside my couples through so many seasons of life is one of the greatest gifts of this job, and getting to document their journey into parenthood has been especially meaningful.
Romy is absolutely precious. She arrived with the fullest head of curly hair, and I don’t think anyone could get enough of it. She was the sweetest little model and made this in-home newborn session such a joy!
A Beautiful Charlotte Newborn Session
Grace and her mom designed Romy’s nursery together, which made every little detail feel even more special. One of my favorite touches was the baby mobile, which featured little versions of their beloved dogs, Dixie and Olive!! It was such a thoughtful way to include such an important part of their family in the nursery.
Speaking of family, dogs have always been a HUGE part of Grace’s life. She comes from a family of veterinarians… her parents are vets, her brother followed the same path, and even Grace is a veterinarian herself! So it’s safe to say that caring for animals runs in the family, and seeing Dixie and Olive step into their new roles as protective big sisters was absolutely the CUTEST!
The Sweetest Girl Dad
One of my favorite moments from the session was watching Riley fully embrace being a girl dad!
He proudly pulled out his custom “girl dad” hat and his new custom suit jacket and made sure we photographed it because it meant so much to him. You could tell he was soaking up every second of this new chapter. Those little moments always end up becoming some of my favorites because they tell the story just as much as the portraits do.
Sessions like this are exactly why I love being a Charlotte newborn photographer. Watching families grow and documenting each new season is something I’ll never take for granted. Grace, Riley, and sweet Romy, thank you for allowing me to continue telling your family’s story. It has been such an honor to celebrate each chapter with you, and I cannot wait to watch your little girl grow!
