There are weddings you photograph, and then there are weddings you feel.
Abby and Steven’s celebration at Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina was one of those unforgettable days—full of emotion, beauty, and so much love. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Crisp fall air, golden light, and the kind of relaxed energy that only autumn brings in the Carolinas. As a Charlotte wedding photographer, I’m always inspired by how the seasons shape a celebration. And this fall wedding at Quail Hollow? Pure magic.
A Family-First Kind of Day
Abby was the first in her family to get married, and the meaning of that moment was felt by everyone. From the second I arrived, I could sense the love and excitement. Abby got ready with her mom and sisters, sharing quiet, joyful moments before a tear-filled first look with her dad—and later, Steven. We were all weepy by the end! I truly adored working with this family. They welcomed me with such warmth, and capturing their bond was something I’ll never forget.
Tented Elegance on the Lawn
With Sarah Cook of SoHo Event Design leading the day, every detail was thoughtful and intentional. The lawn at Quail Hollow was tented for the ceremony: elegant, romantic, and wrapped in lush fall florals by Floressence Flowers. The whole scene felt like a garden tucked into autumn. As Abby walked down the aisle, Steven’s eyes welled with tears. During their vows, Abby teared up, too. It was the type of ceremony I won’t forget!
A Reception That Felt Like Home
The reception space was truly transformed into the coziest, most beautiful living room you’ve ever seen! The color palette leaned into deep greens, warm candlelight, and layered textures. Florals spilled across the space, bringing the outside in. It was intimate, rich, and welcoming, a space that invited guests to relax and celebrate. And celebrate they did! The dance floor was packed all night. This crowd knew how to party and the joy was contagious.
Grateful for the Gift of This Work
Abby and Steven, thank you. Your wedding day was a dream, not just because it was beautiful (though it truly was), but because of the heart, the people, and the love in every single moment.
If you’re planning a Quail Hollow Country Club wedding, or looking for a Charlotte wedding photographer to capture both the emotion and the details, I’d be honored to be part of your story!
