From the very first call with Olivia, I just knew we were going to have so much fun together!! She and Walker are getting married next year at Myers Park Country Club, where her parents are members, and they’re working with the wonderful team at Katrina Hutchins Events, so I already know the wedding is going to be STUNNING! But meeting them in person for their engagement session was the true joy. These two are warm, joyful, easy to be around, and so clearly in love. It made photographing them feel effortless!

Two Classic Charlotte Backdrops

We started their engagement session at the Mint Museum Randolph in Charlotte. The clean architecture and soft evening light created the most timeless setting for portraits. Olivia looked beautiful (I absolutely loved her white lace-detailed dress), and she and Walker were total naturals in front of the camera. We spent most of the session laughing and it truly felt like spending time with old friends!

From there, we headed to Olivia’s parents’ home for a second location that made the session feel even more personal. Olivia and Walker love sharing a good bottle of red wine together, so we wanted to highlight that. We popped open a bottle in their family’s wine room and captured the sweetest, most cozy, at-home moments.

And of course, we had to include Hudson, their adorable pup who was the best little model and absolutely stole the show!

A Southern Love Story

Olivia and Walker first met in Columbia while Walker was visiting a mutual friend, though technically, Hinge played a small part in making sure their paths crossed. Their first date was dinner (fitting for two people who love dining out!), and the rest was history.

They’re the first wedding in their friend group, which means next year is going to be a party! Olivia and Walker’s vision is a celebration full of joy, dancing, laughter, and all of the people they love most. I already know it’s going to be such a special day!

This engagement session was one of those afternoons that just felt easy and fun from start to finish. Olivia and Walker, thank you for trusting me with documenting this season and for being such a joy to photograph.
