Ella Marie and Ned’s engagement session at Winghaven Gardens in Charlotte, NC was the definition of timeless, romantic, and effortlessly beautiful. These two currently call Charlotte home, but with a destination wedding planned in Seaside, Florida (30A) next May, they wanted their engagement photos to reflect this season of life, rooted in Charlotte, surrounded by lush greenery, and completely them.
Winghaven was the perfect choice. The gardens are full of layered greenery, winding brick paths, and hidden pockets that feel intimate and serene. It gave us a totally different atmosphere from the coast, while still feeling elegant and intentional!
Ella Marie wore two GORGEOUS dresses during the session, and both fit the garden setting perfectly. Her first look was a chic white mini dress with delicate floral cutout detailing from Bergdorf Goodman, modern, feminine, and perfect for warm summer evenings in the city!
For her second look, she changed into a soft blue dress by Meshki, which felt SO romantic and timeless against the greenery and brick textures throughout Winghaven. The movement of the dress paired so beautifully with the natural light, creating portraits that feel elevated and effortless.
Ned complemented her looks, keeping everything classic and refined — and together, they were absolute naturals in front of the camera!
A Charlotte Chapter Worth Remembering
While Ella Marie and Ned are heading toward a coastal celebration in Florida, this engagement session was all about commemorating their life here in Charlotte. Choosing Winghaven allowed us to capture a quieter, more romantic side of the city, one filled with gardens, greenery, and peaceful moments tucked away from the bustle.
It was a gorgeous evening, full of soft light, laughter, and that unmistakable excitement that comes with being engaged.
Ella Marie and Ned, thank you for trusting me to document this chapter of your story. I can already tell your Seaside wedding next year is going to be absolutely stunning!!
