Haley’s vision from the very beginning was clear, confident, and honestly iconic! She described her wedding day as a “black tie frat party,” but not just any party. An elevated, Southern chic wedding celebration at Myers Park Country Club designed for hosting, dancing, and bringing everyone together.
And she DELIVERED. In every possible way.
Haley knew she wanted to work together from the start, and one of the things she loved most was how I capture color. So we leaned ALL the way in. This Myers Park Country Club wedding was unapologetically, joyfully, and ENTIRELY pink. *cue Lizzo – PINK! Goes with everything!*
A Pink Dream from Start to Finish
Haley is a pink person through and through. It is the color her family and friends associate her with, so it only made sense for it to take over the entire day in a way that felt personal and true to her.
From the invitations to the bridesmaid dresses to the florals and decor, every detail leaned into that signature shade. The groomsmen wore pink bow ties and cummerbunds, and even the guests were encouraged to follow the dress code of “black tie, pink preferred.”
The result was incredible. The entire room felt cohesive, energetic, and full of life. It had that playful, polished feel that reminded me of a Lilly Pulitzer world, which made perfect sense for Haley’s style.
Southern Elegance with a Twist
One of the things I loved most about this Myers Park Country Club wedding is how Haley took a traditionally classic venue and completely made it her own. Instead of leaning into a more formal or expected look, she created something that felt fresh, vibrant, and fun.
Her gown by Sareh Nouri, found at one of my favorite shops, Ladies of Lineage, here in Charlotte was such a standout too! It featured the sweetest oversized bow detail that felt perfectly in line with the rest of the day. Feminine, chic, and a bit unexpected.
The ceremony setup was equally thoughtful. The chairs were a fun departure from the typical country club look, adding personality right from the start. And florals by Lily Greenthumbs really livened up the aisle! Of course, we had to take advantage of the golf course setting too. Sneaking away for portraits with the golf cart ended up being such a playful moment that fit their energy so well! The reception, designed by the talented team of Soho Event Design, continued the colorful theme. And one of my absolute favorite details had to be that INCREDIBLE cake by Marianne Taylor Cake. Pink plus bows… perfection!
Haley and Matt are natural hosts. They love bringing people together, and you could feel that in every part of their wedding day. Nothing felt stiff or overly traditional. It felt like a true celebration from start to finish.
The dance floor stayed full, the energy stayed high, and the entire day felt like this perfect balance of elevated and carefree. Exactly what an elevated “black tie frat party” should be.
Haley and Matt, your wedding was bold, joyful, and so uniquely you. I loved every second of it.
