Some engagement sessions are beautiful because of the location, and some are beautiful because of the people. Grace and Chase’s spring engagement session at Wing Haven Gardens had both.
These two are one of my lovely couples for this fall, and I was SO excited when they decided to hold off on winter photos and wait for spring blooms instead. It was absolutely the right call! Wing Haven Gardens in Charlotte was overflowing with greenery and florals, and it ended up being the dreamiest backdrop for their engagement session.
Grace and Chase are also just genuinely fun people to be around. So laid back, easygoing, and sweet with each other. The whole session felt effortless from start to finish.
A Love Story That Started in High School
One of my favorite parts of their story is that they met in high school, just like my husband and I did. I always have such a soft spot for high school sweetheart stories because they remind me so much of our own relationship and how special it is to grow up alongside someone. And honestly, these two just fit together so naturally. The entire session was full of laughter, easy conversation, and the kind of comfort that only comes from years of knowing someone deeply.
(As a complete and total side note, if you want to read more about my husband and I meeting in high school, you can find that story here.)
Spring Blooms at Wing Haven
Wing Haven Gardens was exactly the atmosphere they envisioned. Romantic, lush, colorful, and tucked away right in the middle of Charlotte. It felt private and peaceful while still giving us so much texture and variety throughout the gardens. The last time I was at Wing Haven was to photograph the sweet engagement session with Ella Marie and Ned. This venue never disappoints!
I also have to say it… I absolutely love photographing redheads. Grace’s complexion and hair color against all the spring greenery and blooms was unreal. Everything photographed so beautifully.
Looking Ahead to the Wedding Day
Grace and Chase’s wedding this fall at Myers Park Country Club with Madison Moseley Events is going to be such a beautiful day. I am also extra grateful for this connection, because Grace originally found me through Kathy Allen Cakes, who I absolutely adore!!
Sessions like this are always such a good reminder that sometimes waiting for the blooms is completely worth it!
