Oh Baby Lillian! Have you seen a sweeter face this week? I bet not!! This whole afternoon was filled with the most gorgeous smiles and love – and fun cocktails (more on that later)! Proud parents, Marice and Robbie, made this SUCH a fun session, it did not feel like work for one minute!
Marice first found me actually as a wedding guest! She was attending Caroline and Jared’s gorgeous wedding at the Governor Thomas Bennett House a few summers ago and that’s where our relationship started. Fast forward to their first bundle of joy, Lillian! She was truly a miracle baby and they are just SO excited to have her in their lives!
Both Marice and Robbie are big time travelers, and you can see that reflected in Lillian’s nursery decor. They had the cutest prints above Lillian’s crib of some art that’s shaped like a little girl’s dress, but once you look closer you’ll realize the dress print is actually a map of Italy and Paris! They even had her first travel trunk – pink of course.
The Non-Resident Bar
Outside of travel, this couple also appreciates a great beverage… So they decided to make their own bar inside of their home, called the Non-Resident. It’s quite popular among family, friends, and neighbors – it even has it’s own Instagram! They made their very own custom menus for it too, inspired by all the places they’ve traveled to. So when it came time for their in-home newborn session, we knew this location was a must on the list. Marice and Robbie even put up a little sign up that says “the new resident, Lillian Sawgrass has joined” and it was really unique and special to them.
Home Sweet Home: Lifestyle Newborn Photos in Charlotte
At the very end of our session, we grabbed a photo of them sitting in front of their house. This was another special moment, because they took the exact same photo when they first moved into the house of just the two of them. So we had fun re-creating it with the new addition of Lily in her arms. I mean, how can you not tear up at such a sweet and momentous idea?!
Overall, this was such a love-filled day. And it wrapped up with Marice, Robbie, and I sitting around the Non-Resident with a glass of champagne! I think we sat around for almost an hour afterwards laughing and getting to know each other more. I am so grateful to have met Marice all those years ago and am so happy for them now with the arrival of Lillian. Here’s to many more years of laughter & great cocktails!
