Joe and Megan’s Downtown Charleston engagement session in was absolute perfection. Even though the weather for us was SO cloudy and borderline dark, we pulled out some of my favorite images to date for two of my all-time favorite humans! When one of your best friends gets engaged, you RUN to Charleston and shoot her engagement photos ASAP! These two clean up so well!
Megan and I have known each other since our freshman year of college. We were roommates for (approximately) 2 weeks before I moved out of our dorm. I hate that I ended up missing living gal, but we spent so much time with each other in college we may as well have been roommates! We became fast friends and our friendship has withstood college, graduation, and 6 moves between us. Our friend group used to pick on Megan so much because we told her her standards were so high! But truly, I am so proud of the woman that she has become, how she stood her ground and waited for what she knew she deserved: only the best. She guarded her heart and waited for a man that pursued her with the purest intentions.
Enter Joe. Joe and Megan met in September of 2019 when Megan joined the University of North Carolina’s football staff as an athletic trainer. Joe had been working there for one year already on the coaching staff. It wasn’t love at first sight for these two. Joe and Megan began their relationship with a 3 year friendship. It was the perfect start to their story, as they got to know each other, support one another through hard times (even break ups), and truly build a solid foundation. As they hit the 3 year mark in their friendship, Joe and Megan spent 80-100 hours per week at work together, had the same core group of friends, and confided in each other for a lot of things. Joe realized that he could see it all with Megan: a relationship, a marriage, a life, a family. He took a risk pursuing her knowing her could lose their friendship, but to him, she was worth the risk.
Joe asked Megan to marry him on the very first day they moved into their brand new home in Charleston and she said YES! I can’t wait for the treat of being IN this wedding instead of photographing it! However, we knew I had to at least photograph their engagement session. Their wedding at Legare Waring House this summer is going to be nothing short of perfect.
Joe and Megan – I adore you both! Thank you for letting me photograph this special time of life for you guys and even more, thanks for letting me be a part of your lives. I feel so lucky that Chance and I get to walk through this life with you two as friends!

WHAT A SHOWSTOPPER! Adam and Jessica of McCormick Custom Construction showed up and showed out for their branding session! These two are an incredible team here in Charlotte, NC – a powerhouse duo – building and selling homes so that you can love the place you live! They wanted updated branding portraits to show how they work together for their clients every day. They were honestly a DREAM to work with and I can’t wait for you to see all of these incredible Charlotte branding portraits for this construction company.
Adam and Jessica’s branding portraits were a really fun creative process. They chose one of their latest builds in Myers Park to show off their designs. It was the perfect location for their branding images. There, we were able to capture how they work when designing a new project. We photographed them in this beautiful finished home and on a construction site at one of their new builds, too. I loved getting to know Jessica and Adam more as we photographed new headshots and branding portraits for them to use online.
These two are just a lot of fun and kept me laughing. They’re personable and they have great style! I am obsessed with Jessica’s looks for these branding portraits. If they work as well together as they take photos together, I’d hire these two in a heartbeat for my custom home! Enjoy scrolling through their portraits and don’t forget to reach out if you’re in need of a new house!

Bailey and Jake are so kind and I loved working with them for their Uptown Charlotte engagement session! They have a truly effortless love about them that was so easy to capture! All of my couples are amazing, but there’s something really special about watching two people as in love as Bailey and Jake are. You can see the way Jake looks at Bailey how much he truly adores her! I was so happy when they reached out asking me to document this incredible time in their relationship. We had a wonderful time together and I’m so excited for you to see these portraits!
I’d never had anyone wear a jumpsuit for their session but I LOVED it for Bailey! She looked amazing in the pink and white jumper she picked. It was perfect against all of the classic marble buildings in Uptown. A little pop of color is always a good idea for your outfits!! And you know I always love when couples bring their pups along… so I was thrilled when Bailey and Jake mentioned bringing their fur baby. Even their pup looked amazing during their portraits. Seriously, I’m obsessed with these three. Bailey and Jake were absolute naturals during their portraits – I feel so lucky to have been able to work with them.
After her jumpsuit, Bailey changed into a chic white dress. Both of her looks for their portraits were stunning!! I know that Jake thought so, too. We explored more of Uptown Charlotte. This is one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions. It’s stylish and there’s so much variety all within a few miles. The entire time, we were laughing and talking like we’d known each other for years. That’s what I want all of my engagement sessions to feel like!!
I can’t wait to celebrate these two for their wedding in Virginia next year!! I know it’s going to be absolutely beautiful!!
Ginnie and Austen – where do I even begin?! These two and their Quail Hollow Club wedding this past spring was a true highlight of 2022! Ginnie and I first met when I had just moved to Charlotte from Charleston. She was working at the Duke Mansion and the girls there were my first true vendor friends in the area! When she and Austen got engaged, I was OVER the moon when she asked me to be their wedding photographer!
Ginnie and Austen began dating 7 years ago while they were in college. Ginnie was a sophomore at USC and Austen a junior at App State. They met through a mutual friend that Austen went to high school with and who, coincidentally, was a good girlfriend of Ginnie’s in her sorority. Their mutual friend set them up for her last sorority function of the year and the rest was truly history. These two dated long distance for about 3 years of their relationship. Together, they finally settled down in Charlotte after Ginnie graduated! In December of 2020, Austen popped the question right after Thanksgiving. Ginnie and Austin were on a sweet mountain getaway with just them two and their dog, Henry! It was absolutely perfect.
This wonderful wedding design was inspired by the colors of springtime in Charlotte and a whimsical wallpaper design the bride fell in love with. The Bloom Room brought our couple’s vision to life with lush white blooms and a reception ceiling dripping with live greenery. The wallpaper was featured on the front of Ginnie and Austen’s custom bar that Dan Planning made. It served as inspiration for their invitations, too! They had a coordinating pattern designed by Olive Paper in their envelope liners. Beige lounge furniture with lush, green pillows and overhanging chandeliers with natural greenery woven throughout were the perfect ode to the original wallpaper design during the reception. One of my favorite sentimental parts of the wedding day was that Ginnie and Austen were married in the same church that her parents were married in 30 years ago.
Ginnie and Austen were truly a dream couple. They’re about all things gracious, kind, and fun! Katrina of Katrina Hutchins Events always creates true masterpieces for her clients’ wedding designs and this one was no different. It was absolutely beautiful – and I hope you’ll enjoy looking through it today!

Baby Parker is here!! I did McKenzie + Ryan’s maternity photos in the studio before his arrival and they are some of my favorites! Now, I got to meet the little boy they were waiting for during his Charlotte lifestyle newborn session. It was an absolute dream (not that I expected anything less from this beautiful family!) and I’m so happy to be sharing them with you today!
If you remember from their maternity portraits, McKenzie has such great style. That gift seeped through into their newborn portraits, too! Her gorgeous blue dress complemented her husband’s and baby boy’s outfits and the results are stunning! It looked amazing against the white walls of the nursery and with all of the natural light in their home. Baby Parker did amazing during his session. He was cuddly, sleepy, and gave us a little break while he fed briefly in the middle of the session. I had a great time getting to chat with McKenzie and Ryan more while he ate, it was such a treat!
I truly will never get over being invited to be part of these first few moments with families, capturing their first few weeks as parents. It’s such an incredible honor and such a joy! Thank you, McKenzie, Ryan, and Parker for letting me into these precious moments!

I ADORE Caroline and Jared! Honestly, it’s been that way since the second they inquired about their wedding in Charleston. We immediately hit it off and they have been the best to work with. It’s been such a great process because they completely trust me and that has been SO fun to work with them! Their modern glam Charlotte engagement session was a dream come true – I LOVE that my brides are becoming known for having incredible, over-the-top dresses. It’s a blast to photograph them, and Caroline was no exception. I seriously can’t wait for you to see these images!
When we began to plan Caroline and Jared’s engagement session, we all knew Uptown Charlotte was going to be our goal. There’s nothing like the courthouse and rooftop views of the city skyline. Caroline and Jared are both hustlers – and doing big things in Charlotte, so we knew that we had to capture that high energy. I adored capturing their love as we explored Uptown. Caroline and Jared are just SO joyful, you can’t help but smile when you’re around them. Watching them be in love together is just seriously something special.
Caroline went over the top (in the BEST way) with the most stunning blue dress. My bride’s are kinda known for having large, over the top dresses, and I love it! (Seriously, check out Sara + Declan and Kristin + Tyler for more gorgeous dresses!!). Jared was also unapologetically himself, rocking his Nike kicks with his suit and I loved it so much. If this session was any indication of how beautiful their wedding will be, I’m SO excited.
I can’t wait to see you both in Charleston next summer, Caroline and Jared!!

I adore this sweet family! We got together for a summer family session in Charlotte NC to help celebrate Witt’s first birthday. We met up at Latta Park this year and it was absolutely stunning! I was lucky enough to photograph this little man right after he was born and now he’s one. He has already grown to have so much personality!! His little smile can truly brighten anyone’s day. This is one of my favorite parts about what I do: being able to grow with families and watch their kids grow up. It’s such an honor!! There is truly nothing as special as knowing I’m a part of capturing their story, and being asked to photograph a family more than once means the world to me.
I’d never photographed a session at Latta Park before this one. Olivia and Drew mentioned the park because this is somewhere they walked a lot when Olivia was pregnant with Witt. It’s so special – and I love the idea of choosing somewhere unique to your family for your portraits. Latta Park is beautiful and we had some stunning backdrops along the pathway, plus plenty of room for Witt to explore in between photos. No matter where we do your family session, I’m all about letting kids be kids. We’ll be silly and play together. It makes for a much better session, trust me.
Olivia and Drew knocked this session out of the park. They picked the perfect outfits and a perfect location. Witt was absolutely happy and smiley for us… and we couldn’t have asked for a better day for their portraits. I’m so happy that I got to see these three again!! Happy first birthday, Witt. Keep bringing your joy to the world.
Shelby and David are so much fun! Shelby and I have mutual friends and when she got engaged, she called me to photograph their wedding and I’m SO glad she did! I love their style and overall have such a good vibe! We laughed so much through our session (I know I say that every time, but like, REALLY we laughed so much). That’s the kind of relationship I want with all of my incredible couples. Shelby said after receiving these photos, even her dad teared up looking at them (but, can we blame him?!). I just adore these two SO much and I can’t wait for you to scroll through their incredible Uptown Charlotte engagement session!
Charlotte has so many incredible spots for photos. It’s always hard to decide where we’ll go for a session. When Shelby and I began talking, we kept coming back to the idea of Uptown Charlotte. There’s some truly beautiful architecture in the area – and the views of the city can’t be beat. For Shelby and David’s first look, we explored some of the buildings in Uptown. Can we talk about Shelby’s incredible two piece dress for the first part of the shoot?! I’m still obsessed with it. She looks amazing!!! Afterwards, we headed to one of the parks in the area and captured their second look. We ended the session on a rooftop in the area to capture the skyline – and Shelby and David popped some bubbly to enjoy, too! It was the perfect way to wrap up our time together in Uptown Charlotte.
I can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with them at Duke Mansion in November!! Until then, enjoy these seriously gorgeous portraits of Shelby and David!

The Pascutti’s are some of our closest friends, so when their newest addition Porter came, we made sure to get some photos of him and their family on my most recent visit with them! I was so excited to meet my new little buddy. I couldn’t wait to be “Aunt Demi” again and let his two big sisters show him off with me. While every session I photograph is special, I will never get over how lucky I am to be able to photograph this beautiful family because they’re so important to me.
We photographed Porter’s newborn session in their Charleston SC home (which is stunning). Sarah’s a talented photographer, too – so she always knows what she’s doing when she plans her sessions with me. Everyone always looks amazing in their coordinating outfits and it’s just a joy to photograph them all (see their beach session here!). And it was, of course, true in this session too! The girls were so adorable, especially!
I loved wandering through their house and finding the best light to capture this sweet family of five. Honestly my favorite part about lifestyle sessions is being able to really document the real relationships and interactions between family members. This happens more naturally because everyone is so relaxed! The girls got to play and then be with their brother, and his parents were able to breathe a little more and just enjoy themselves! No one had to worry about if they forgot anything or had everything for their little ones. It was just wonderful to watch everyone be together at home.
To the Pascutti family: thank you for letting me capture this special moment. I absolutely love you and adore Porter. I’m thrilled that I got to meet your sweet new guy and letting me be a part of this magical time for you!
There’s nothing like planning a bridal session with one of my beautiful brides!! I love the chance to really help them feel excited about their wedding day and their bridal look. It’s so much fun to plan and create a session all about them!! Wedding planning is stressful and all brides deserve a chance to relax and just celebrate. Planning these Duke Mansion bridal portraits with Katelynn and her mom was a blast!!
No matter where you plan your session, bridal portraits are such a great way to wear your dress with your hair and makeup trial to make sure all feels and looks the way you want it to on your wedding day! Then we get to spend the day together and take all of the pictures of you in your beautiful gown. And Katelynn’s dress is GORGEOUS!!!! I love the detail of the tiny flowers! It was truly so beautiful, and she looks stunning in it!
Katelynn is such a classic bride. We explored the grounds of the Duke Mansion, which is one of my favorite spots for sessions. She looked absolutely amazing – especially in the room with the black and white tile floor. It’s just so classic!!!
If you’re getting married this year, let’s talk about bridal portraits. You deserve a chance to celebrate being a bride!!!
